Our hands are not clean at all. The gas that Saddam had we supplied, Iran had a democracy we overthrew it installed who we wanted, Egypt we supported their military and the list goes on and on all over the middle east and the world. We don't follow the Constitution, what the founders said, or apparently the Geneva Convention which we signed. They don't hate us because we are free or perceived as a christian nation, they hate us because we support the people that kill and enslave them. All of this counter terrorism baloney would not be needed if we actually followed the constitution, and what we as Americans are supposed to stand for. How about we don't supply the thugs, dictators, install our choices for their leaders.

Well, I wish you were exaggerating, but you are fundamentally correct. It is so easy to forgive ourselves for stuff like that, but people in the world know our history. If the US were affected by another country as much as many of them have been affected by us, our people would be rioting in the streets in protest as well. Imagine if China came in and overthrew our government and put in someone like the Shaw, the way we did to Iran.

Oh no, remeber this USA , the country who defne who is terrorist , so no one can define USA as a country of terrorism. Doesn't that exactly what terrorist do? It sound like this is a state terrorisim. So, USA will from time to time strike any place in the world (sorry , only the islamic world) killing those it doesn't like (of course after naming them terrorist). But be carefull guys, those poor that will be affected by your strikes, will hate you more and remeber they are great sucide, or aren't they??.

It's all about them and their views, and nothing about anyone else. They operate from hypocrisy as a starting point, thus they will never accept ANY responsibility for their mistakes while simultaneously expecting credit for other people's success. In their minds, conservatism/Republicanism is the only true way. It's the only way that could have brought success. Ever. Anyone who is not a Republican, in their minds, either exists to serve them or is lesser in some way. They can't blame themselves for the same reason they can't give Obama credit.

Gitmo's still a problem but he's made an effort and we'll see how things go now that bin Laden sleeps with the fishes. And he handled the minor problem of a viciously murderous criminal escaping justice and plotting mayhem. He privatized low orbit space which should please free marketeers no end and we'll see if it was the right time. He chose not to follow standard GOP procedure of organizing a witchhunt and jailing bankers. Some might wish a few were hanging from lampposts but I think he made the right call until Warren gets settled and begins issuing reports. He saved 2 of the Big 3 auto makers, mainly to save the jobs. And he got credit reform and the consumer credit protection agency which will do much good. FDA is vastly improved, FEMA got plaudits for much improved performance during the tornadoes, and if the GOP can be held off, EPA will get to do its job properly. All his effort. He fought with courage and persistence for ACA and if it wasn't perfect he got most of what he wanted. He fought for extension of unemployment benefits. If we had kept his stimulus going another year as he wished, the states would not be in the holes they're in and our recovery would be faster.Naturally with high unemployment and the housing market collapse the deficit worsened.Get people working and revenues will improve. I think he should have let the tax credits lapse but he may be right to let them stay a short time longer and thanks to the GOP's arrogance and clear siding with the wealthy few, it will be much easier to get the credits for high income people dropped next time round. If he can get a clear run, we could see his infrastructure bank and the Smart Grid project that shape though the GOP Nosayers will do everything to block him. How worse? He kept TARP going which did its job of saving the credit system and more importantly has been doing a fine job recovering the cash.

To quote the shrub, not something I do often, "Bring it on"As far as what happened to candidate Obama's promises once he became President, reality BITES, and if he is only going to keep ONE campaign promise, this was the one.On Gitmo, talk to the Republicans in congress, they are the ones that tied his hands.

As a retired United States Army Infantryman I can tell from first hand experience that our job is to Protect the United States of America against ALL Enemies, yes sometimes that means taking lives, and that is an unfortunate thing, but that is also what happens in War. Next time you are talking about the Military being killers, remember that if it wasn't for our Military you would not have the freedoms that you enjoy in the United states. jklapper, The Militarys job is NOT to Kill people and Break things.

Please, look at the masses of angry faces in countless numbers of news videos from around the Muslim world, where thousands are chanting death to someone or some country that isn't Islamic. We cannot stay in that region long enough to kill all those people. Leave them to their own horrors and pull our troops out. The problem people in the Islamic world are continually referred to as a minority, a fringe element, a small number of, and so on. End Muslim immigration to the U.S.

The elimination of Bin Laden has everything to do with Counterrorism, yes, but nothing whatsoever to do with a comparison to "nation building". Core to the Bush Doctrine is the effort to track down terrosists and kill them where they live Fareed. Obama execuited the Bush Doctrine to perfection Fareed.

Hunt down the leadership and kill them where THEY live, not where WE live. Play hardball with these thugs – this they will understand. Need continued powers provided by the Patriot Act. Keep harsh interrogation in play. Bravo to Obama for executing this part of the War when it came to Bin Laden.

Therefore, requested 200 troops to remove 4,000 tons of garbage in the streets, and not for the first time. health department of the city is strongly influenced by the control of the mafia, and therefore the streets are covered with garbage collection and inadequate disposal of toxic waste poses a serious problem. And with local elections to be held today and tomorrow, the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berusconi need a quick solution. Naples has a problem of major waste, and there is nothing new.

Naples has faced the problem of waste over a long period, in 1994, the European Union officially declared an environmental emergency in the city. In 2009, a sunken ship full of toxic waste found on the coast of southern Italy. The Neapolitan mafia was the main suspect, and it is estimated that 32 vessels are.

We also discuss Hochschild’s earlier book, , about the horrific colonial exploitation of present-day DRC by Belgium’s King Leopold and the U.S.-backed ouster and subsequent assassination of the Congo’s first elected prime minister, Patrice Lumumba. [includes rush transcript]. Historian and author Adam Hochschild talks to about his latest book, , and the comparison between pacifist struggles in World War I-era Britain to the U.S. during Vietnam and Afghanistan and Iraq today.

hosts a conversation between Palestinian author Rula Jebreal and Egyptian journalist Issandr El Amrani about the continued uprisings in the Middle East and Arab attitudes toward the U.S. Jebreal talks about growing up in Haifa and her autobiographical novel , and El Amrani discusses the effects of the "Arab Spring" on Israel. [includes rush transcript].

If that happens, not only will the U.S. Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebration of the national media watch group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, world-renowned political dissident and linguist Noam Chomsky analyzes the U.S. "Across the [Middle East], an overwhelming majority of the population regards the United States as the main threat to their interests," Chomsky says. and its allies are not going to want governments which are responsive to the will of the people. not control the region, but it will be thrown out." [includes rush transcript]. Plainly, the U.S. "The reason is very simple. response to the popular uprisings sweeping the Middle East and North Africa.

In fact, opposition to U.S. So that’s obviously an intolerable result. Well, plainly, the U.S. policy is so high that a considerable majority think the region would be more secure if Iran had nuclear weapons. Across the region, an overwhelming majority of the population regards the United States as the main threat to their interests. NOAM CHOMSKY: The U.S. There are some in the region who regard Iran as a threat—about 10 percent. Similar figures elsewhere. The reason is very simple. In Egypt, the most important country, that’s 80 percent. and its allies are not going to want governments which are responsive to the will of the people. If that happens, not only will the U.S. and its allies will do anything they can to prevent authentic democracy in the Arab world. not control the region, but it will be thrown out.

policy on Iran. It just doesn’t matter what the population thinks, as long as they’re under control. In fact, coverage of these polls is precisely zero in the United States, literally. There was no mention of the Arab—of the Arab population, because it doesn’t matter. They can have campaigns of hatred; our friendly dictators will keep them under control. policy on Iran. The revelations from WikiLeaks that got the most publicity—headlines, euphoric commentary and so on—were that the Arabs support U.S. There is no comment on this. In the case of WikiLeaks, there was an interesting aside on this. They were quoting comments of Arab dictators. If the dictators support us, and the population is under control, then what’s the problem? This is like imperialism. There’s a few comments in England, but very little. Yes, they claim to support U.S. What’s the problem if it works? As long as they can control their populations, fine. That’s the reaction not just of the diplomatic service in the State Department or of the media who reported this, but also of the general intellectual community.

You can almost spell them out. But they’re obedient, they’re reliable, so they can do what they like. Saudi Arabia is the most important. So in the case of an oil-rich country with a reliable, obedient dictator, they’re given free rein. There was a planned protest in Saudi Arabia. There was a small demonstration, very quickly crushed, no comment. There were—it’s the most repressive, extremist, strongest center of Islamic fundamentalism, missionaries who spread ultra-radical Islamism from jihadis and so on. Well, from these observations, you can conclude pretty quickly, pretty easily, what policies are going to be. The same in Kuwait. But that was fine. The police presence was so overwhelming and intimidating that literally nobody even was willing to show up in the streets of Riyadh.

And there’s been a concern among planners for a long time that there might be a move towards some sort of tacit alliance in these Shiite regions moving towards independence and controlling the bulk of the world’s oil. Another more fundamental reason is that Bahrain is about 70 percent Shiite, and it’s right across the causeway from eastern Saudi Arabia, which also is majority Shiite and happens to be where most of Saudi oil is. They’re a minority in the Middle East, but they happen to be where the oil is, right around the northern part of the Gulf. That’s eastern Saudi Arabia, southern Iraq and southwestern Iran. Saudi Arabia, of course, is the main energy resource, has been since the '40s. That’s obviously intolerable. Actually, the most interesting case in many respects is Bahrain. One reason, which has been reported, is that it’s the home port of the U.S. Fifth Fleet, major military force in the region. Bahrain is quite important for two reasons. By curious accident of history and geography, the world's major energy resources are located pretty much in Shiite regions.

And, of course, we have to recognize the importance of that. So, "Arab League Calls for Gaza No-Fly Zone," that’s inconsistent with U.S. and its allies were intervening in response to a request by the Arab League. And then—but in this case, they could also add something else, which has been repeated over and over again, namely, the U.S. Well, to be precise, it was reported in the , but basically blocked in the U.S., like the polls, like the polls of Arab public opinion, not the right kind of news. That wasn’t reported in the United States. Incidentally, the response from the Arab League was tepid and was pretty soon rescinded, because they didn’t like what we were doing. At the very same time, the Arab League produced—issued another request. policy, so that, we don’t have to honor and observe, and that disappeared. But put that aside. Here’s a headline from a newspaper: "Arab League Calls for Gaza No-Fly Zone." Actually, I’m quoting from the London .

The penalties for those convicted has been removed and vary considerably by imposing fines to revocation of small potential enormous. Police seek more than 800,000 Americans each year for violating marijuana laws of the State. But for people detained in these five states, including the ramifications of a marijuana bust in children may be particularly severe.

However, in 2009 was extradited to Texas to serve more time behind bars. The same penalties for marijuana are part of the course in the state before. Rheumatoid arthritis patient Foster – convicted of marijuana cultivation in 1997 – was convicted of the same draconian age of 93 years, later reduced to 20 years on appeal. After considerable public outcry, Montgomery finally granted early release on medical grounds – though he later lost a leg from a prison in underdeveloped bed sore. Foster was released on parole after and moved to California, where he immediately registered as a patient of Medi-legal pot. Paraplegic Jimmy Montgomery was sentenced to life in prison – later reduced to 10 years – after being caught with two ounces of medical marijuana in her wheelchair.

However, lawmakers in the House refused to even consider the place a vote. Within weeks, more than 2,500 Texas residents have contacted their House members in support of the measure.

formally request an advisory opinion on behalf of the "Colbert Super PAC", proposed to pass an independent committee can only accept unlimited corporate, individual committee, political and labor contributions. Stephen Colbert is not to "be stupid" money is not unlimited runs its corporate political action committee. Therefore he brought to the creation of the Federal Election Commission in Washington DC

"I think the decision is Citizens United was good, it should be unlimited corporate money, and I want some." I will not be the fool who did not. . To accept unlimited funding "is a right, as described in the case of Citizens United," Colbert said in response to a question of politics Ken Vogel.

"As we here in this historic place where 250 years ago today, George Washington, he presented his papers to form their independent expenditures and political action committee is not connected, we are at a crossroads of America – Not to be confused with the crossroads America, the name of Karl Rove "Super PAC" Colbert told the crowd "I mean a metaphorical crossroads, as the Supreme Court decision in the case of citizens. The United States has shown that unlimited corporate money equals free speech. But the transitive property of the elections, not to follow the money this company is equal to the silence? ".

Romney has spent half of his speech defending the Massachusetts plan – which took six percent of citizens in the country that was not affiliated with a health insurance or pay a "deposit" of about $ 125 per month – before moving on to a critique of Obama's health reform passed last year by Congress.

He admitted that some aspects of the state plan, which has led to government price controls to try to keep costs under control, did not work as expected, but concluded: "Overall I am proud that we have done everything possible for our people it covers me? Of course.. "

emphasize personal responsibility ".. He said that the" nexus "requirement in Massachusetts, was" a government decision. "Our plan was to find a solution to a problem state, and [Obama's health law] is a power grab by the federal government to put in a one-size-fits-all plan for the entire nation," Romney said.

Gave a big boost to Romney on Thursday in its pages, saying that due to Massachusetts law intended 40 percent of its budget to health care, compared to 30 percent when he signed the bill law, and hospitals must pay even higher rates of uncompensated care they were then.
