The Vermont Senate passed a bill to reform the universal health system in a 21-8, largely along party lines Monday after five hours in the Green Room. (Kevin Mullin, R-Rutland, voted yes. While Wisconsin labor protests entering its tenth consecutive day with the latest in a surprise vote of the National Assembly by the Republicans to fire in the Senate (which has been deprived of a quorum of democratic state senators absent), it is worth thinking about exactly what is at stake. The study of $ 1,200,000 (300,000 dollars, along with MnDOT and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) will explore the current infrastructure used by passenger liners and cargo to determine needs and costs for high-speed rail. So far, Minnesota has only received $ 600,000 in federal funds direct high-speed rail, for a study that began in the summer of 2012, a year after their counterparts in the Midwest. The environmental impact statement should be available in late 2013. Krom said the study will also examine environmental problems, such as wetlands found along the line.

The Supreme Court has interpreted the First Amendment means that government can not show preference for one sect or religion. ACLU of Hawaii Legal Director Lois Perrin said the United States U.S. Supreme Court ruled that legislative prayer is permissible in some circumstances, but the court did not address the issue since 1983.
