19. The two key Republicans in Congress agree that the Senate last week voted to approve two weeks continuing resolution is a positive step in the right direction, but renewed his call for Democrats in the Senate GOP to formulate a plan to reduce federal costs voices or other account of long-term spending passed the House in February

I think the Senate vote today is a positive step in the right direction, Boehner, R-Ohio, said. And so we are waiting for them .. The American people want us to focus on creating jobs and reducing costs, and the passage of this bill spending in the short term, I think that shows we are listening to the American people. Americans have a right to know where it intends to reduce costs and to fund the government for the rest of the year for Senate Democrats. 1 to present his plans for the future. Passing the bill gives Democrats in the short term in the Senate two weeks to examine whether HR

The spending bill cuts $ 1240000000 eight programs Obama has proposed cutting its budget for 2012, while the elimination of $ 2.7 billion in reserve. This morning, the Senate approved two weeks extension Casas, which includes just over $ 4 billion in spending cuts. The bill also funds the operations of government until midnight on 18 March.

Now the question is: where are the Democrats in the Senate will take us? What is your proposal? This would be the next step to resolve this groping for the rest of the year and we expect the majority of the Senate .. It's a small step but a step in the right direction, "said McConnell. Although this was a bill for two weeks and $ 4 billion of spending cuts, is the first time I remember my time here is to reduce our expenditures by appropriations bill.

This is often exaggerated, and the White House to apologize for taking a political road safer. Triangulation is the difference between Bill Clinton and Obama was the "pragmatism" is not important, but the rhetoric. As Greg pointed out yesterday, for the most part, Obama makes it clear that he agreed with the Liberals, in essence, first the argument that the political situation requires a sort of compromise. It does not help that the White House tends to make the prevention of major concessions before calling the Republicans on the negotiating table.

Obama is just triangulation triangulation Clinton. Therefore, Barack Obama was elected, is not surprised the White House is the story of the president as "the leader of adults." Not surprisingly, those who remain are tired being treated like "children" and their fundamental objections about the possible long-term White House dismissed as mere requests for realistic compromise ideological purity. But this is not new. So I agree with Greg that "triangulation." He does. In fact, it is less hostile to the left that his counterpart in the 90's.

Obama served as a Jedi mind, just a new name for its ability to string a drug (used for health care in the work of complex stimuli in the past), but without the "soft racism" brush criticism Democrat Obama was paved last week, before becoming the children of this week?.

And although I'm certainly not happy that 125 million deficit is added in the next two years to give tax breaks to the rich who do not need it, I'm glad that Obama has navigated treacherous political landscape incredibly successful enough to extend unemployment benefits beyond what anyone thought possible a week ago, to extend his tax cuts to stimulate the progressive, participate in stimulating tax cuts wages and protect a struggling economy (to say nothing of millions of Americans in work) to get a big kick of the horse.

But who is the competition? Bill Clinton? Jimmy Carter? If I knew that was what Obama was in would not have wasted my time and money to support it. And as president Elio all right? Well, two years after a historic victory of the Democratic Party was defeated and demoralized. If this happens, I hate to see failure.

"Only he who is the competition? Bill Clinton? Jimmy Carter? Being", according to specialists of the Chair that I mentioned, as Doris Kearns Goodwin, Obama has been more than two years that the two presidents that you mentioned their presidencies combined . So, no, no "how low Obama .."

Clinton was a Republican, and Carter was a disaster. To say that Barack Obama has adopted more progressive of them is actually the bar low. In fact, I would say that liberalism and progressivism are discredited now more than ever that the company is notable that Obama has not even considered by the left. Far from me to speak with Goodwin predictable, but so far Obama has done more harm than good to progressivism and liberalism. This is mainly due to Obama to renounce its many assets and is based almost exclusively on his terrible political capacity. Country deserves just hope and change and the distance from the dawn of a new era.

On her MSNBC program last night Rachel Maddow highlighted an often overlooked fact concerning the presidency of Barack Obama. Maddow said, By my estimation it is halftime, right, in the first term and with this vote tomorrow they will have gone 85% of the distance they said they wanted to go in the first term of the president..

Maddow hailed the passage of START as victory for Obama, If this treaty gets ratified tomorrow, it will be political malpractice to not call it an unqualified victory for this president and for this presidency. Reducing the worlds nuclear stockpiles, working toward Ronald Reagans goal of a world without nuclear weapons, locking down loose nuclear materials so it doesnt end up in the hands of terrorists, the whole smoking gun could be a mushroom cloud except for real?.

It is a signature issue for him, a tactical win because Republicans said he wasnt going to get it. It is a save the world win because if you care about, oops, its the nuclear end of the world you care about treaties like this getting passed.. It is a political win for the president because it has been on his agenda for a long time. She highlight the ways that this is a win for Obama, Getting this treaty ratified is a huge victory for President Obama and something that Republicans said they would deny him.

Whether you agree or disagree with what Democrats have done in the first two years of President Obamas presidency, they have freaking done it.. For the last two years, Democrats have held the White House as well as big majorities in the House and Senate. The record of achievement in that time, even in the face of unified at times totally random republican opposition, Republican opposition even to things Republicans had proposed in the first place, unified Republican opposition to their own ideas? Their track record even in the face of that is historic. Maddow discussed how historic the past two years have been, If the Senate ratifies the START treaty tomorrow it caps an astonishing period in American political history.

There is territory the White House has said it would like to cover that it has not yet covered. By my estimation it is halftime, right, in the first term and with this vote tomorrow they will have gone 85% of the distance they said they wanted to go in the first term of the president.. Later Rachel Maddow delivered the kicker, There are big things this administration said that it wanted to do that it hasnt done yet. Today it looked like one of the important judicial nominees will not get a vote to become a judge this year. Energy reform, immigration reform, the bush tax cuts for the rich were extended, closing Guantanamo. Those are some of them.

If you would have told policy people and political scientists two years ago that halfway through his term in office, Barack Obama will have accomplished 85% of his agenda, they would have laughed at you and told you how impossible that would be given the amount of polarization in our legislative process. If you would go on to tell them that after one year Obama would lose his 60 vote majority in the Senate, and would still pass major legislation the experts would have told you to seek mental help, but this is exactly what President Obama has accomplished.

What Obama has managed to achieve has not been seen in this country since FDR and the New Deal, and on a smaller level LBJ after President Kennedy was assassinated. The past two years have been historic, yet a small vocal minority of Obamas base is upset with this president and the nation as a whole tends to give him little credit for what he has done.

As Rachel Maddow pointed out, Obama has already had an unprecedented, for the modern era, run of success. After the repeal of DADT passed he should have been out in front of the cameras with a statement. Obama may be a great legislative president, but he needs to also be the Salesman in Chief. The White House needs to understand that the American people will never give Obama the credit he deserves unless he tells them what he has done.

You may not always agree with what he has done, but there can be no denying the epic weight of his accomplishments. Recognizing the facts as Rachel Maddow did does not make one an Obama apologist, or an Obama cheerleader, but it is important to note that the facts dont back up the notion that Obama is somehow a failed president, or unworthy of the lefts support. Obama will probably win a second term, but it is a shame that so many people dont understand what this president has done. Obama deserves some credit, even if he refuses to take it himself.
