The defense had hoped to say that Roeder believes in good faith Tiller was an imminent threat to the "unborn children " and that justified the use of lethal force against him. On the stand, Roeder admitted shooting the doctor and expressed no regret: "There was nothing has been done and the legal process was exhausted, and these children were dying every day. ". This is just as expected after Judge Warren Wilbert Thursday ruled that jurors were not allowed to consider a charge less than murder and manslaughter.
